VISUALISATION TECHNIQUES FOR A CALMER BIRTH

A Hypnobirthing technique that can help you to focus on what you really want & promotes calm & relaxation.



You can visualise anything that helps you to relax & find calm & guides your mind to believe in your body & your birth. Try visualising your baby in their ideal position; your body opening & releasing, strong & powerful; your ideal birth. This can help you to find ways to make this happen in real life.



It’s brain training. You visualise what you want to see/feel/happen in your mind, then over time your mind believes this is happening as the brain doesn’t know the difference between imagined situations & real-life. Then you can go on to achieve this visualisation.



The magic is in the practice. Repeating the same visualisations so they become anchors for positivity & relaxation.



Visualisations create a mindful awareness that invites you to tap into your inner wisdom & intuition, revealing what your heart & soul really wants & needs.

HOW DOES VISUALISATION WORK?


Neurons in our brains are cells that transmit information. They interpret imagery as equivalent to real-life, meaning that when we visualise doing or achieving something, the brain tells these neurons to ‘perform’ the action. This creates a new neural pathway – clusters of cells in our brain that work together to create memories or learned behaviours – that prepares our body to act in a way that’s in line  with what we imagined. When we imagine something repeatedly, we are conditioning our brains to believe in this imagining. This is how we can go on to achieve this in reality.

Breathe Up the Wave visualising the rise & fall of a powerful wave with each surge


Breathe Baby Down  & out visualising a waterfall/rain drops to help direct the energy of the breath



VISUALISE YOUR IDEAL BIRTH 

Set your Birth Intention by imagining how you want your birth to look, feel, smell & sound. Hold these sensations in your mind & body. Return to them often. 



VISUALISE THE MOMENT YOU MEET YOUR BABY 


Remind yourself what this is all for & picture the moment you meet your baby for the first time.Allow yourself to feel it in your heart & smile.



VISUALISE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE


Take yourself to somewhere in your mind that makes you happy, that has memories that make you smile & that relaxes & calms you. It could be a favourite beach, a mountain, home, anywhere that feels good. 



VISUALISE YOUR BABY IN THEIR IDEAL POSITION FOR THEIR BIRTH 


Focus on your baby’s position in your womb & imagine them in the most comfortable position for their birth.  Imagine this position helping them to birth more easily & use your body to guide them with gravity, balance & using upright, forward leaning & open maternal positions.
